Today there was certainly some very mixed action. It is the first time in quite a while Citigroup contracts have been out traded. Four different Altria Group Inc. contracts traded in the most active today... You guessed it, just a dividend play as they'll be spinning their dividend out on the Morning of September 11, 2009. Looks like some bearish bets were placed on the financials today. With just 6 trading days left until expiration, someone made a very bearish bet on the Financial Sector SPDR ETF (XLF). It is also rare to see Wells Fargo trade in the top ten most active option contracts, but someone is making a very bearish bet on Wells Fargo before January.
